Free Brands helps survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence build businesses and lasting economic freedom. Americans spend over a trillion dollars a year shopping online, and our work rests on a simple idea: if just 1% of US adults shifted a single average $52 Amazon order to a survivor-owned business, roughly $138 million would flow into survivor-led economies. Our holiday campaign is where we turn that idea into action, and to do it well, we need to understand what actually drives sales.
We are looking for a marketing strategist with experience measuring campaigns across channels. During our campaign we promote twelve survivor-owned, product-based businesses through a mix of channels, social media spotlights, email marketing, and physical pieces like printed catalogs and in-person promotion and markets, all leading shoppers toward each business’s featured day. On that day, shoppers who spend a minimum receive a gift with purchase they claim through a code. Those codes tell us something, but most of the buyer journey happens before the campaign day and across storefronts we do not own, on Shopify, WordPress, and others.
We want help figuring out what is worth tracking across all of these channels, digital and physical, and how to set up the pieces that are feasible, from UTM links and email click-through to catalog QR codes and simple sales check-ins with each business. We are not trying to build perfect attribution or over-engineer this. We want a clear strategy for what to measure, help putting some of it in place, and honest guidance on what else we would need or who else we might bring in to do so.
Alongside this campaign, the twelve survivors in our program are going through a marketing accelerator, learning the skills to grow their own businesses. The clearer our picture of what works, the more we can hand that knowledge directly back to them, so they can make their own data-informed decisions long after our campaign ends. What we learn here does not just serve one holiday season, it becomes a tool that sharpens how every future cohort markets and grows. For a solo founder, a strategist who can show us how to read our own channels is genuinely high-impact, because this is how a $138 million idea starts becoming real, one survivor’s informed decision at a time.
We are ready to move quickly. As the founder, I lead this work directly and will be the volunteer’s single point of contact, which keeps feedback fast and consistent. We will share our full campaign plan, the channels we use, and details on the platforms our businesses sell through. We know some of the buyer journey will never be perfectly trackable, and we are looking for a strategist who can help us focus on what is both possible and worth our time.
