Phoebe's Safe Haven is a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating accessible emergency shelter and supportive services for women with disabilities who are survivors of domestic violence. We are seeking a skilled Brand Identity Designer to help develop a cohesive, professional visual identity that reflects our mission, values, and commitment to accessibility.

We are looking for a volunteer who can collaborate with our founder to create a comprehensive brand identity that can be used consistently across our website, social media, printed materials, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach.

Project tasks include:

* Refining or redesigning our logo while maintaining the heart of our mission.
* Developing a complete brand identity guide that includes logo usage, color palette, typography, iconography, imagery style, and accessibility considerations.
* Creating visual guidelines that ensure our branding is inclusive and easy to read for people with disabilities, including recommendations for color contrast and accessible design practices.
* Designing branded templates for presentations, letterhead, business cards, social media graphics, and other organizational materials.
* Recommending visual elements that communicate hope, safety, dignity, empowerment, and accessibility.
* Providing final brand assets in organized, editable formats for future volunteers and staff to use.

Our goal is to establish a strong, recognizable brand that builds trust with survivors, donors, volunteers, grantmakers, and community partners. The completed brand identity will serve as the foundation for all future communications and marketing efforts as Phoebe's Safe Haven continues to grow.
At Phoebe's Safe Haven, we believe every survivor deserves to feel seen, valued, and safe—including women with disabilities, who are often overlooked in domestic violence services. A strong, accessible brand identity will help us communicate that commitment from the very first interaction.

This project is much more than creating a logo or selecting colors. It is about developing a visual identity that reflects dignity, hope, accessibility, and empowerment while helping survivors recognize that our organization was created with them in mind.

A cohesive brand identity will strengthen our ability to:

* Build trust with survivors seeking support.
* Increase credibility with donors, grantmakers, and community partners.
* Recruit volunteers and advocates who share our mission.
* Create consistent, accessible communications across our website, social media, educational materials, and fundraising campaigns.
* Raise awareness about the unique barriers women with disabilities face when escaping abuse.

As a new nonprofit, establishing a professional and accessible brand identity now will create a strong foundation for our long-term growth and outreach. The volunteer's work will become an integral part of every resource we produce, every partnership we build, and every awareness campaign we launch.

Most importantly, this project will help us reach more survivors with a clear message: **You are not invisible. You are not alone. You deserve safety, dignity, and hope.**

By sharing your creative expertise, you will help shape the public face of an organization working to make domestic violence services more accessible and inclusive for women with disabilities. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on how our mission is recognized, trusted, and remembered by the communities we serve.
We are committed to making this project a successful and rewarding experience for our volunteer partner. Over the past several months, we have invested significant time in laying the foundation for this work by clarifying our mission, vision, values, programs, and target audiences.

Our organization has already completed or is actively working on several foundational projects, including website planning, website content development, and website wireframes and visual mockups through Taproot and other skilled volunteers. We have also developed organizational documents, messaging, and outreach materials that will provide valuable context for the brand identity process.

The volunteer will have access to our existing logo, current color palette, mission and vision statements, website design brief, strategic goals, and examples of materials we have already created. We welcome the volunteer's professional expertise and creative recommendations while ensuring the final brand identity remains true to our mission of serving women with disabilities who are survivors of domestic violence.

Our founder will serve as the primary point of contact and is committed to providing timely feedback, attending scheduled meetings, answering questions, and making decisions efficiently so the project can continue moving forward.

Once completed, the new brand identity will be implemented across our website, social media platforms, fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment materials, presentations, printed collateral, and future outreach initiatives. Establishing a cohesive and accessible visual identity is an important step in building awareness, strengthening credibility, and supporting the long-term growth of Phoebe's Safe Haven.

Organization Mission

Our mission is to provide safe, accessible, and trauma-informed housing for disabled women who are survivors of domestic violence. We believe that every woman deserves a place where she can heal, be seen, and be supported — regardless of physical ability. Through advocacy, shelter, and support services, we are building a future where no woman has to choose between safety and accessibility. We exist to break cycles, restore dignity, and create lasting change.
