About the Opportunity

We want to design and execute a targeted, hands-on outreach campaign to secure institutional adoption of our digital history resources within school boards, school districts, and universities. We are looking for an expert with a background in education business development, edtech, or educational publishing who understands the landscape of educational adoption and knows how the market operates.

However, there is no commercial sales target here. The goal of this project is to promote a completely free, peer-reviewed resource to underfunded history and social studies departments that desperately need high-quality educational materials.

Over the course of this project (up to 12 weeks), the volunteer will build:

- Institutional Outreach Strategy: Build a structured outreach framework and pipeline to target curriculum decision-makers, school boards, and administrators, primarily across the US and Canada.

- Relationship Management: Initiate direct contact with your existing network or newly researched leads to introduce our platform at an institutional level rather than relying on individual teacher discovery.

- Messaging and Pitching: Adapt and refine our value proposition to clearly demonstrate to school administrators how our free, human-authored platform solves resource constraints for underfunded departments.

Please note that this is not a high-level consulting role. We need a resourceful, hands-on doer with at least five years of education sector experience who can create the immediate outreach framework to help us get into more classrooms.

This project directly addresses a critical crisis in modern education. As school districts face tightening budgets, funding for social studies and humanities departments is frequently the first to be cut. Many underfunded schools simply cannot afford expensive textbook renewals or premium digital software licenses, forcing teachers to patch together whatever fragmented resources they can find online. Your outreach ensures that even when a school is forced to make deep budget cuts, its students do not suffer a drop in educational quality.

Institutional Outreach Strategy

- Outreach framework and pipeline targeting curriculum decision-makers, school boards, and administrators (primarily US/Canada)
- Prioritized target list segmented by district size, budget status, and likelihood of adoption
- Outreach sequence/cadence mapped to the education sector's decision-making calendar (budget cycles, procurement windows)

Relationship Management

- Documented first-round outreach: contacts made across existing network and newly researched leads
- Contact log noting decision-maker role, district, response, and next steps
- Any secured meetings, pilot commitments, or formal adoptions

Messaging & Pitching

- Value proposition materials tailored to underfunded departments (budget-constraint angle, peer-reviewed credibility, free-access framing)
- Pitch templates/scripts for cold outreach, warm introductions, and board-level presentations
- Any supporting one-pagers or talking points for compliance/procurement questions

Tracking & Reporting

- Populated tracking system (using existing outreach/CRM tools) logging pipeline stage, contact history, and outcomes
- Results summary: districts contacted, meetings secured, adoptions/pilots confirmed, and response-rate patterns by segment
- Handover document with next-step recommendations for continued institutional outreach

We have full internal buy-in and are entirely ready to hit the ground running. You will be working directly with our leadership team, meaning you will have immediate access to decision-makers without any bureaucratic delays.

To ensure you can focus entirely on outreach and relationship-building rather than administrative hurdles, we have already prepared the necessary foundational assets:

- Proof of Concept: Our digital library is already highly successful, used in thousands of schools, and loved by individual teachers on a grassroots level. It is officially recommended by the School Library Journal, Teach Magazine, Oxford University, and many others. You won't be testing an unknown resource; you will be scaling an already trusted platform.

- Content and Verification: All our materials are fully peer-reviewed, vetted, and mature. The platform is 100% free for schools, eliminating any financial or procurement friction during your outreach.

- Software and Tools: We already have direct email outreach and relationship management software set up and ready to use should you need it to manage and track your communication pipeline.

Once your outreach frameworks are set up, our tight-knit team will be right there to support you with any specific landing pages, digital brochures, or compliance information required by school boards.
