Our CEO is retiring within 10 months. We have identified the need for a CEO transition packet for the incoming CEO. We need help developing a knowledge-capture timeline that identifies critical topics to document, key considerations, interview questions, and implementation. The volunteer will help draft this transition plan, clarify goals and deliverables, and support initial implementation.
Capturing executive knowledge will preserve institutional memory and support leadership continuity, helping Island Housing Trust sustain affordable-home development, strengthen stewardship and community engagement, and build long-term financial resilience through clear leadership transition guidance. Volunteer time will directly improve incoming CEO efficacy.
We will provide existing leadership documents, staff and board contacts, and commitment to use AI tools where feasible. The volunteer will assist in drafting the transition "user manual." The team will adopt the transition plan and timeline and assign owners to perform executive knowledge capture.

Organization Mission

Over the past two decades, Island Housing Trust has grown from a small community driven initiative into a leading nonprofit developer and long-term steward of permanently affordable homes. Today, with 174 completed homes and 140 more in the development pipeline, our mission has expanded in both scale and scope. Our 2030 goals build on our solid foundation. We’ll strengthen our core housing development work while deepening our commitment to stewardship, environmental sustainability, community engagement, advocacy, and long-term financial resilience.
