COCAS needs one skilled volunteer with GIS, parcel mapping, or public-record mapping experience to create a PDF map packet for a donated vacant land parcel in the Crestline / Lake Gregory area of San Bernardino County, California. The property is identified in the signed donation agreement as APN 0339-193-29-0000, Tract 2744, Lot 71, located off Chillon Drive.

The volunteer will create a public-record mapping packet that includes:
A parcel location map showing the donated APN in relation to Crestline, Lake Gregory, Chillon Drive, and nearby roads
An APN / surrounding parcel map showing nearby parcels, roads, and landmarks
A topography / slope map using available public GIS or topographic data
An access illustration showing apparent nearby roads and possible access routes based on public maps
Concise map notes explaining what the maps appear to show and what still needs professional verification
A final PDF map packet COCAS can share with its board, title company, planner, surveyor, or future development professional

This project is limited to GIS mapping and public-record visual research only. We are not requesting a legal boundary survey, engineering certification, zoning opinion, title opinion, or legal advice.

The expected timeline is 2–4 weeks, with the volunteer sharing approximately 2–5 hours per week.
This project will help COCAS make a responsible and informed decision about donated land that may become a future nonprofit asset. Clear maps will help our team visually understand the property’s location, surrounding roads, terrain, slope, nearby parcels, and possible access conditions before we invest in formal professional studies.

The mapping packet will support COCAS’s mission by helping us evaluate whether the land can safely and responsibly support future housing, community services, cultural programming, land banking, resale, or other charitable uses. By helping us avoid costly mistakes and identify next steps early, the volunteer’s work will directly support our ability to serve underserved community members with stronger planning and better stewardship of donated assets.
COCAS is ready to begin this project now. We have already received the signed real property donation agreement and have the parcel information needed to begin: APN 0339-193-29-0000, Tract 2744, Lot 71, located off Chillon Drive in the Crestline / Lake Gregory area of San Bernardino County.

COCAS will provide the volunteer with the signed donation agreement, APN information, basic property details, and any public GIS links or documents we have collected. Our team will be available to answer questions, review draft maps, provide feedback quickly, and keep the project focused on the agreed deliverables.

The final map packet will be used by COCAS leadership and board members to better understand the donated land before we spend limited nonprofit funds on formal surveying, engineering, planning, title review, or development work.
