Free Brands helps survivors of trafficking and gender-based violence build businesses and lasting economic freedom, and we are looking for a designer to develop the visual identity that carries that work into the world. We currently have a circular FREE. mark, and we need help growing it into a complete visual brand. We envision the volunteer developing a primary logo and wordmark that clearly read Free Brands, along with secondary variations, logo usage guidelines, our color palette with exact codes, typography, and iconography or graphic elements, all delivered in formats we can use across print and digital. This is a highly visible project that will shape how we show up for a long time, and we are open to the designer’s guidance on what our visual identity needs to be complete.
Our work asks people to see survivors as entrepreneurs, not as clients defined by crisis, and a professional visual identity is what makes that shift believable at first glance. Whether someone is discovering a survivor-owned business in our directory or a funder is deciding whether to invest, the way we look shapes whether they take us seriously. For a solo founder, a designer who can give us a cohesive brand is one of the most lasting gifts we could receive, because every material we create afterward will carry the credibility you help us build.
We are ready to move quickly. We have core brand elements already in place, including our FREE. mark, our color palette, and our fonts, so the designer builds on a real foundation rather than a blank page. We know exactly who we are speaking to, from the survivor entrepreneurs at the heart of our work to the purpose-driven buyers, funders, and sponsors who support us, and we will share our branding goals and examples of work we admire. As the founder, I lead our communications directly and will be the designer’s single point of contact, which keeps feedback fast and consistent. Once the identity is complete, we will use it across our directory, program materials, campaigns, and sponsor communications, and as the foundation for a brand voice guide to follow.
