Nonprofit Financial & Operational Infrastructure Development

My goal for this Taproot Project is to establish a strong financial and operational foundation for our early-stage 501(c)(3). I am seeking an experienced nonprofit accounting or operations professional to review our current structure, recommend best practices, organize our financial systems, identify all required federal and state compliance filings, and develop a practical annual compliance calendar. I would also like guidance on accounting workflows, internal financial organization, grant readiness, and documentation so the organization can confidently manage operations independently until we are able to retain ongoing accounting support.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will help establish the operational and financial infrastructure necessary to responsibly grow our nonprofit and pursue grants, university partnerships, and research collaborations. A strong organizational foundation will allow us to focus on advancing our mission of improving human performance, readiness, and decision-making under stress while ensuring long-term compliance, accountability, and sustainability.

I have completed our nonprofit formation and IRS 501(c)(3) determination and have organized our governing documents, EIN, bylaws, financial records, and organizational information for review. I have also completed a strategic planning engagement with Georgetown University and am currently working with a senior technical architect to develop our long-term technology roadmap. I will be responsive throughout the engagement, provide any requested documentation promptly, and implement the volunteer's recommendations to establish sustainable operational and financial processes.
