Design a Stunning Card Deck

We are seeking a skilled graphic designer to help transform an existing leadership and community-building framework into a visually compelling, print-ready card deck that complements our illustrated book, "Across the Realms: Kindle's Fiery Quest to Unity".

My goal for this Taproot project is to prepare a print-ready card deck and two-part box cover that can be professionally produced and used in leadership development, community engagement, and educational settings.

The deck will serve as an interactive learning and leadership tool that guides participants through an Internal Healing Process while paralleling the Heroine's Journey. Through a sequence of cards, participants will explore themes such as awakening, self-discovery, seeking wisdom, navigating challenges, building relationships, developing confidence, and taking action to strengthen their communities.

We have already completed much of the foundational work, including:
The book manuscript and story framework
The card deck concept and content structure
Professional illustrations for the core journey cards
Leadership themes, reflection prompts, and community-building exercises
Research and consultation on effective card deck design

We are looking for a volunteer partner to help:
Create a cohesive visual design system for the deck
Design engaging 4" x 6" card layouts (fronts and backs)
Integrate existing illustrations into the card designs
Develop typography, color palettes, iconography, and branding elements
Design a professional two-part box cover for the deck
Prepare print-ready files suitable for commercial production
Offer recommendations regarding production specifications and, if desired, potential printing resources

Our audience includes youth leaders, educators, community organizers, nonprofit and faith-based leaders, and community members seeking to build stronger relationships and address local challenges through collaboration and civic engagement.

The desired outcome is a beautiful, high-quality card deck that helps people develop personal leadership, deepen self-awareness, build meaningful connections across differences, and feel capable of mobilizing others to create positive change. This deck will become a signature resource used by Unity Infusion and Unity Spark Project in workshops, trainings, cultural exchange experiences, leadership programs, and community-building initiatives throughout Washington State and beyond.

A skilled design volunteer would help transform Across the Realms: Kindle's Fiery Quest to Unity into a visually engaging leadership development card deck that equips youth, adults, and community leaders with practical tools for personal growth, relationship-building, and community mobilization. This resource will strengthen the educational and earned-income capacity of Unity Spark Project by creating a scalable, high-quality product that supports workshops, trainings, cultural exchanges, civic engagement initiatives, and community-building efforts throughout Washington State and beyond.

Our team has thoughtfully prepared for this project and is ready to support a successful pro bono partnership. We have already completed the book, developed the card deck concept, organized the content, and created the illustrations that will serve as the foundation for the deck. To ensure clarity of vision, we have participated in card deck training and consulted with an experienced card deck expert, so we have a well-defined direction for the final product. We have full organizational buy-in and a clear implementation plan. Once the design is completed, Unity Spark Project will handle production, printing, distribution, and integration of the deck into our leadership trainings, workshops, community engagement programs, and educational initiatives. We will provide timely feedback, organized materials, and responsive communication throughout the project, and we welcome the volunteer's creative expertise and recommendations, including potential printing and production resources.
