Develop an Insurer Engagement Strategy and Pilot Proposal Toolkit

We are looking for a volunteer to develop a comprehensive insurer engagement strategy and proposal toolkit to expand access to specialized cleft and craniofacial care.

Your work will directly support our mission of providing life-saving care to underserved infants by helping us secure coverage pathways with payers. The primary deliverables for this project include:
• An insurer engagement pathway map identifying target payers and key decision-making functions (e.g., medical policy, network strategy).
• A compendium of precedent out-of-network 'Centers of Excellence' arrangements to serve as benchmarks.
• A phased pilot timeline with clear milestones.
• A draft insurer-facing proposal featuring cost-comparison framing.

This project will position the Foundation to engage insurers effectively once accreditation is secured, supporting coverage pathways that expand access to life‑saving cleft and craniofacial care for infants and families. Volunteer contributions will help create scalable partnership models and pilot proposals that enable measurable increases in access for underserved communities.

The Foundation has begun building strategic groundwork and will provide background materials. Volunteers will collaborate with Foundation staff in iterative sessions to validate assumptions, refine milestone timelines, and co-author the insurer-facing proposal so the final outputs are ready for outreach once accreditation and facility partnerships are in place.
