We are a small international team and we are looking for a skilled volunteer to help us assess our current operational workflows and develop a prioritized roadmap for responsible AI adoption. Specifically, we need support with:

-Reviewing 2–3 of our core workflows to document inefficiencies, manual bottlenecks, and technology gaps
-Conducting an AI readiness assessment that accounts for our team's capacity, risk considerations, and highest-impact opportunities
-Delivering a prioritized roadmap of 3–5 AI-enabled workflow improvements with clear rationale and recommended next steps— with human oversight built into each recommendation

The volunteer will work directly with 1–2 staff members over 4–6 weeks, dedicating approximately 2–5 hours per week, to help us move from AI curiosity to a clear, confident plan for adoption that keeps people at the center.
Our team is deeply committed to our mission, but manual, disconnected workflows and a growing organization are consuming time and energy that should be directed toward the communities we serve. Staff are stretched thin, and developing a clear roadmap for AI implementation will help us operate more effectively and expand our impact. This project will give us the clarity and confidence to move forward thoughtfully, with the human in the loop at every stage, ensuring that any AI adoption enhances, rather than disrupts, the human-centered service model our participants and partners depend on. The roadmap produced through this engagement will directly shape how we operate and grow.
We have identified internal champions and have leadership buy-in to pursue this work. Staff members will be available for 2–3 working sessions and intake interviews to support the volunteer's assessment. While formal workflow documentation may be limited, we can walk the volunteer through our current processes and provide access to the tools and platforms we use today. At the close of the project, the roadmap will be reviewed with leadership and used to inform our technology planning and any future pro bono engagements.

Organization Mission

The Social Impact Start-up Academy (SISTAC) is a non-profit organization that fosters impact entrepreneurship by connecting students with impact start-ups, particularly from the Global South. Through innovative educational formats, SISTAC enables students to engage directly with real-world challenges faced by these start-ups, develop practical skills, and contribute to the success and sustainability of social enterprises. By facilitating cooperation between students and entrepreneurs, SISTAC enhances learning outcomes and addresses gaps in entrepreneurial education and support, with a focus on regions like Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.
