We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help us build a centralized, AI-supported data collection and reporting system that allows our nonprofit to track organizational performance in one place.

Currently, key data lives across multiple platforms including website analytics, social media channels, podcast platforms, earned revenue systems, outreach tracking, program engagement, educator engagement, and student participation. Gathering this information manually is extremely time-consuming and limits our ability to make quick, data-informed decisions.

In this project, you will help us move toward a more data-informed culture by:
• Defining a core set of weekly and monthly KPIs across our student engagement, media, and revenue channels.
• Building a centralized dashboard in Google Sheets to house this data.
• Identifying and setting up 1–2 initial AI-assisted workflows or automations (using tools like Zapier or ChatGPT) to reduce manual entry for a primary data source.
• Providing a list of recommendations for future integrations as we scale.

You will work closely with our leadership team, who will provide full access to all existing platforms and internal spreadsheets. Success for this project means having a single, reliable place to view our organizational health, allowing us to spend less time on data entry and more time expanding our STEM programs for girls.
Books That Build Skills powered by Athenian is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on helping students, specifically girls ages 10–15, explore careers, build life skills, and gain confidence through STEM education. Through books, library partnerships, and podcast content, we help students better understand the real-world skills and careers shaping the future. Our mission is to equip the next generation with communication, critical thinking, and career readiness skills they need to succeed.
We will set this project up for success by providing the volunteer with full access to our current reporting systems, workflows, and data sources.

This includes:
• Creating spreadsheets and tracking documents
• Website analytics tools
• Social media analytics across current channels
• Podcast platform metrics
• Revenue reporting from ecommerce and fundraising platforms
• Program participation and outreach records

We have a clear understanding of what data matters most to our organization and where our current inefficiencies exist. The main challenge is not identifying the need—it is building an efficient system that connects the data sources and simplifies reporting.

Our team is highly collaborative and prepared to provide:
Clear project goals
Fast communication
Timely feedback
Access to existing tools and documents
Quick decision-making during implementation

We are looking for a volunteer with strengths in data systems, analytics, automation, AI workflows, spreadsheets, or dashboard creation who can help us design a practical system that our organization can maintain long-term.
