Develop a Brand Identity and Design Toolkit for a Refugee Nonprofit
As an early-stage nonprofit supporting migrants and refugees, we want to ensure that our visual communications consistently reflect our values of dignity, belonging, trust, and inclusion. We are seeking support in developing a stronger and more cohesive brand system that can be used across our communications, programs, and advocacy efforts.
Over a 4–6 week engagement, the volunteer will help us:
• Review our existing visual identity and brand assets
• Identify opportunities to strengthen consistency, accessibility, and visual clarity
• Refine key brand elements and visual standards where needed
• Develop practical brand guidelines that can be used by a distributed volunteer team
• Create a small set of branded templates for recurring communications materials
• Provide recommendations for maintaining brand consistency as the organization grows
The primary deliverable will be a Brand Identity and Design Toolkit that includes updated brand guidance, visual standards, and reusable templates for our communications team.
As we expand our programs and partnerships, clear and consistent visual communication plays an important role in building trust, strengthening credibility, and increasing engagement with the communities and stakeholders we serve.
A strong visual identity helps ensure that our stories, research, and advocacy efforts are presented in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with our mission. It enables us to communicate more effectively with community members, partners, funders, and supporters around the world.
By helping us strengthen our brand foundation, the volunteer will contribute to a communications system that supports long-term organizational growth and amplifies the voices and experiences of migrant and refugee communities.
Our Marketing & Communications team has already established foundational brand assets, messaging, and communications materials that can be shared with the volunteer. The volunteer will have access to existing designs, brand references, organizational messaging, and examples of current communications materials.
The volunteer will work closely with our MarComms leadership team, who will be available for feedback, collaboration, and timely decision-making throughout the engagement.
We are organized, responsive, and committed to implementing recommendations that improve the quality and consistency of our visual communications. The resources created through this project will be actively used across our communications, storytelling, fundraising, and advocacy efforts.
