We’d like to partner with a skilled volunteer who can help us establish a practical foundation for responsible AI use across our organization. Specifically, we need support with:

-Developing a simple, staff-facing AI use policy that defines acceptable use, data privacy considerations, and human oversight expectations
-Creating use-case-specific guidance for 2–3 workflows where our team is already using or considering AI tools (such as communications, documentation, or outreach)
-Building a short orientation resource — such as a one-pager, FAQ, or slide deck — that introduces staff and volunteers to our AI guidelines and builds confidence in using AI responsibly

The volunteer will work with 1–2 staff members over 4–6 weeks, approximately 2–5 hours per week, to establish a clear, practical foundation for responsible AI use across our organization.
Leadership has identified responsible AI adoption as a priority and is committed to implementing the resources developed through this project. We are prepared to share examples of current AI use across our team, participate in 2–3 working sessions with the volunteer, and provide feedback on drafts. Staff and volunteer leads will be available to inform the use-case guidance. Upon completion, the policy and orientation materials will be introduced to staff through our existing onboarding and team communication channels, ensuring immediate and consistent adoption.
Our team is already encountering AI in their day-to-day work — but without shared guidelines or clear boundaries, usage is inconsistent and carries risk. For a mission-driven organization that works with aspiring and early career women attorneys, that inconsistency matters. The policy and training resources developed through this project will help our team feel confident and equipped, keeping the human in the loop at every step, to reduce the risk of misuse and ensure that, as AI becomes more present in our work, it remains aligned with the trust our community places in us.

Organization Mission

Ms. JD seeks to support and improve the experiences of women law students and lawyers. Obstacles to equal participation hinder not only women in the law but also their colleagues, clients, children, and communities. Ms. JD consequently strives to give voice to why it matters that women continue to overcome barriers to achieve gender parity in the profession. In doing so, Ms. JD spreads the word: women’s victories are everyone’s victories.
