Heart for Youth is seeking a volunteer with WordPress web development experience to help us launch our new website. We have already completed the website design, content, branding, and page layout concepts, and we have an active Business Plan account with Bluehost. We are looking for a volunteer who can help bring the site to life and ensure it is fully functional and ready for public launch.

Specific tasks may include:
- Setting up and configuring our WordPress website within Bluehost
- Building website pages based on our existing design files and content
- Ensuring the site is mobile-friendly and user-friendly
- Creating navigation menus and page structure
- Integrating DonorBox so visitors can securely make one-time and recurring donations
- Setting up basic forms (contact, volunteer interest, mentor inquiry, etc.)
- Ensuring the website follows best practices for performance and security
- Testing the website across devices and browsers prior to launch
- Providing basic training and documentation so our team can make future content updates independently

Our goal is to launch a professional, donor-friendly website that clearly communicates our mission, highlights our mentoring programs, and makes it easy for supporters to donate, volunteer, and get involved. We anticipate working collaboratively with the volunteer over several weeks, providing all content, images, branding assets, and design files needed to complete the project.

This website will directly support our ability to reach more youth, recruit mentors, engage community partners, and increase financial support for our programs.
Heart for Youth currently serves 40 youth through one-to-one mentoring relationships, case management, family support, and resource connections. Over the next 2–3 years, our goal is to grow that number to 100 youth throughout Santa Clara County. To reach that goal, we must strengthen both our mentor recruitment efforts and our financial sustainability.

This website project is a critical step toward that vision.
As part of this redesign, we are shifting from a traditional "Become a Donor" model to a sponsorship model that allows individuals, businesses, churches, and community partners to directly invest in a youth and mentor relationship. By helping visitors clearly see the impact of their support, we believe we can increase recurring giving, attract long-term sponsors, and build a stronger foundation for growth.

The website will also serve as a key tool for recruiting new mentors—the caring adults who help youth build confidence, resilience, and hope for the future.

For the volunteer who joins this project, the impact goes far beyond building webpages. The website they help create will become a powerful tool that enables us to recruit more mentors, engage more sponsors, and expand support to more youth and families. We often say that one caring adult can change the trajectory of a young person's life. By helping us launch this website, a volunteer will be helping create more of those life-changing connections and providing a stronger foundation for Heart for Youth to grow from serving 40 youth today to 100 youth in the years ahead.
We have invested significant time and effort preparing for this project and are ready to support a volunteer's success. Our Board of Directors has spent several months developing the website's messaging, structure, and overall vision to ensure it accurately reflects our mission, programs, and impact.

We have already completed the foundational work, including:
- Finalized website messaging and content
- Established branding, including fonts, colors, logos, and style guidelines
- Selected and organized all photos and visual assets
- Created the website design, page layouts, and user flow through an AI design platform
- Organized all files in Google Drive for easy access and collaboration
- Secured our Bluehost Business Plan account and selected WordPress as our website platform

Our team will provide the volunteer with all necessary content, images, branding materials, and design files upfront, minimizing the need for content creation and allowing the project to focus primarily on website development and implementation.

The website will be actively maintained and utilized by our organization upon completion. It will serve as a key tool for recruiting mentors, engaging donors, sharing resources, and increasing awareness of Heart for Youth throughout our community. We are committed to responding promptly to questions, providing feedback in a timely manner, and working collaboratively throughout the project to ensure a successful outcome for everyone involved.

We view this as a true partnership and are excited to work alongside a volunteer who can help us bring our vision to life and expand our impact on the youth and families we serve.
