Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy (HFTC) seeks a skilled CRM, fundraising operations, or nonprofit technology professional to help optimize our Network for Good donor management system.

As HFTC continues to grow, we are expanding our fundraising efforts through individual giving, membership programs, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, special events, and major donor cultivation. We recently launched our Preservation Partners Membership Program and are working to strengthen donor stewardship, improve fundraising efficiency, and enhance reporting capabilities.

We are seeking a volunteer partner to evaluate our current Network for Good CRM setup and provide recommendations that will help us better manage donor relationships, membership tracking, fundraising campaigns, and reporting.

The project may include:

• Reviewing our current Network for Good CRM configuration and workflows
• Assessing donor, member, sponsor, and stakeholder data structure
• Recommending improvements to segmentation and contact management practices
• Evaluating opportunities for automation and stewardship workflows
• Developing recommendations for membership tracking and renewal processes
• Creating best practices for donor cultivation and moves management
• Improving fundraising and board reporting capabilities
• Recommending dashboard metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Providing guidance on data cleanliness, consistency, and long-term management

The final deliverable will be a CRM Optimization Plan that includes actionable recommendations, workflow improvements, reporting strategies, and implementation priorities designed to strengthen HFTC's fundraising capacity and supporter engagement.
Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy preserves, protects, and promotes the history, culture, and legacy of Freedmen's Town, one of the nation's most significant post-Emancipation communities.

As the organization grows its preservation efforts, educational programming, community revitalization initiatives, and operation of the Freedmen's Town Visitor Center, strong fundraising systems are essential to sustaining and expanding our impact.

Optimizing our donor management system will help HFTC strengthen relationships with supporters, improve stewardship of donors and members, increase fundraising effectiveness, and make more informed decisions through better data and reporting. These improvements will ultimately help generate the resources needed to preserve historic structures, expand public education, support heritage tourism, and ensure that the stories of freedom, resilience, and self-determination represented by Freedmen's Town continue to be shared with future generations.

By contributing their expertise, the volunteer will help build the operational foundation necessary to preserve an irreplaceable chapter of American history and strengthen the long-term sustainability of our organization.
HFTC is prepared to begin this project immediately and has strong organizational support for improving fundraising operations and donor management systems. The project will be led directly by our Fund Development Manager, who manages fundraising activities and serves as the primary administrator of our donor database.

To support the volunteer's work, HFTC can provide:

• Access to relevant Network for Good reports and CRM configurations
• Current fundraising and membership program information
• Existing donor stewardship and communication processes
• Organizational fundraising goals and development priorities
• Sponsorship, membership, and event fundraising materials
• Examples of current reports and tracking methods
• Access to key staff members for interviews and feedback

The organization is committed to implementing recommendations that improve donor stewardship, fundraising effectiveness, membership retention, and organizational reporting. Recommendations from this project will be incorporated into HFTC's annual development plan and day-to-day fundraising operations.

We are committed to timely communication, regular meetings, prompt feedback, and providing the volunteer with the information and support needed to complete a successful project.
