Civic Health Alliance (CHA) seeks an experienced fundraising strategist to help strengthen and prioritize our foundation fundraising efforts. We are a small but growing nonprofit with an active grants pipeline and several promising opportunities under consideration. We are looking for a volunteer who can provide strategic guidance on where to focus our limited capacity to maximize fundraising success.

The volunteer will work with organizational leadership to review our current funding pipeline, identify high-potential foundation prospects, recommend funding priorities, and help develop a practical action plan for the next 6–12 months. We are particularly interested in support identifying small- to mid-sized foundation opportunities that align with our mission, programs, and organizational stage.

Potential activities may include:
-Reviewing our existing grants pipeline and fundraising materials
-Advising on prospect research and funder prioritization
-Recommending foundation opportunities aligned with our mission
-Helping assess grant readiness and organizational positioning
-Providing strategic guidance on fundraising approaches and timelines
-Offering feedback on grant concepts and funder outreach strategies

This engagement is expected to require approximately 10–15 hours per month over a one- to two-month period. Grant writing experience is welcome, but strategic fundraising expertise is the primary need.
CHA is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) based in Brooklyn, NY that advances America's health through civic engagement. Our flagship initiative, 1,000 Caring Voices, is building a national network of community health leaders who serve as trusted messengers connecting health and democracy ahead of the 2026 election cycle and beyond.

A stronger fundraising strategy will directly support our ability to expand programming, engage more community leaders, and sustain initiatives that promote healthier, more civically connected communities. By helping us identify the most promising funding opportunities and focus our limited resources effectively, the volunteer will play an important role in increasing our long-term impact and organizational sustainability.
CHA leadership is fully committed to implementing the recommendations generated through this project. We have already developed an active grants pipeline, maintain organizational materials and program descriptions, and have identified fundraising as a key organizational priority for the coming year.

The volunteer will have access to organizational leadership, existing fundraising materials, information about current and planned programs, and documentation of funding opportunities already under consideration. Our team is prepared to meet regularly, respond promptly to requests, and implement actionable recommendations.

Because we are a lean organization, we are particularly interested in creating a realistic fundraising strategy that matches our capacity and can be implemented immediately following the engagement.
