Build Visual Identity Assets for a Dog Rescue

LEGACY PAWS RESCUE

The org:
Legacy Paws Rescue is a dog rescue founded and run by one person, Domenica. She pulls dogs that other people gave up on, gets them healthy, and finds them homes. The rescue runs on her face and her word — adopters trust her, not a logo. That's exactly why we need the visual identity to finally match the trust she's already built.

What we need:
A designer or art director to own the visual side of the brand — logo treatment, color, type, and the visual identity system. We handle the brand strategy and voice/messaging guidelines ourselves; you're not writing those. You design against a written brief and voice that already exist.

We've broken this into three separate phases so you can commit to one at a time. Take one, take all three — your call. Each one is a finished, portfolio-ready piece on its own.

Phase 1 — Logo. A primary logo plus a simple secondary/icon version for social avatars and small spaces. We'll give you the name, the brand voice, and reference for the feel — you own the logo treatment and design. Roughly 10–15 hours.

Phase 2 — Visual identity guidelines. The visual half of the brand guide, built around the logo: logo treatment and usage, color palette, type system, and do's and don'ts. We supply the brand strategy and voice section ourselves and merge it with yours — you own the visual pages only. Practical and usable, not a 60-page agency deck. Roughly 12–18 hours.

Phase 3 — Core assets. A small set of reusable templates we can fill ourselves — social post templates, an "adoptable dog" template, a before-and-after template. This is where the brand actually earns its keep. Roughly 12–18 hours.

You'll work directly with Domenica and our creative lead. Fast feedback, clear direction, no committee.

Who this is for:
Someone who can take a written brief and run with it. You don't need rescue experience. You do need to be able to commit to a phase and finish it — a half-built logo helps no dogs.

To apply, tell us which phase you want to start with and share a portfolio link or two.
Right now the brand looks like a one-person rescue that's been too busy saving dogs to build a brand. We want to fix that without losing what makes it real.
What you get:
Full public credit as the designer behind the rebrand, on our site and socials. Full rights to use everything in your portfolio. A finished, real-world identity system for a cause with genuine emotional pull — the kind of work that photographs well in a book and means something when you talk about it.

What we'll give you upfront:
Written creative direction and brand voice, all copy, reference and inspiration, photos of our dogs, and a single point of contact who answers quickly.
