We are seeking a skilled web developer to help the WSCC completely refresh and modernize our Wix website to better reflect our mission, programs, impact, and growth. We have already identified the content, page structure, navigation, and overall vision for the site, and we need a volunteer who can bring that vision to life through website development and implementation.

The project will include redesigning and rebuilding key website pages, improving user experience and functionality, and creating a professional, engaging online presence that serves students, families, volunteers, donors, community partners, and funders.

Specific deliverables include:

* Updating the website's overall design and visual appearance to align with WSCC's brand and mission.
* Creating and implementing new page layouts and navigation structures based on our provided content and specifications.
* Developing dedicated pages for our Discovery Lab Program, Literacy Lab, STEM Lab, Homework Success Lab, Innovation Lab, Volunteer Opportunities, Partnerships, Impact, About Us, Board of Directors, News & Events, and Donate sections.
* Improving mobile responsiveness and accessibility.
* Integrating compelling calls-to-action for donations, volunteer recruitment, and program enrollment.
* Enhancing user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design to make information easier to find and navigate.
* Incorporating photos, videos, testimonials, and impact stories throughout the site.
* Ensuring the website is optimized for search engines (SEO) and follows nonprofit website best practices.
* Creating a structure that is easy for WSCC staff to update and maintain after launch.

We are not looking for someone to determine our content strategy from scratch. We already have a clear vision, page outlines, and content direction. We need a volunteer with web development expertise who can translate our ideas into a polished, professional, fully functional website that increases community engagement, strengthens fundraising efforts, and showcases the transformative impact of our programs on elementary school students and families.

The ideal volunteer will have experience in nonprofit website development, UX/UI implementation, responsive web design, and content management systems, and will collaborate with our team to ensure the final website reflects the quality and impact of our organization.
A clearer, user-friendly website will raise public awareness of the Center’s programs addressing literacy, school dropouts, unemployment, and other at-risk issues, making it easier for youth, young adults, seniors, and community partners to find and use services. Volunteers will directly expand our outreach and support.
Details will be provided. Our team will be available for regular check-ins, share existing site information, and give timely feedback so the volunteer can iterate and deliver a usable design for implementation.
