Our website and emails are hosted by Bluehost. Our Admin has "disappeared" and we cannot access our C Panel to make changes to our account. Without this access, we cannot add or delete email accounts, subscription terms or any changes to the current hosting. Ideally, we'd like to regain administrative access to our account and leave the hosting where it is or move it back to NameCheap who we originally obtained the Domain Name through and still have full access to that account. We have been able to copy the website in full and save it on our NameCheap account under another Domain Name for now but are uncertain what will happen if we simply discontinue using Bluehost. We are not sure what will happen to the email accounts presently associated with the website.

Through working on this project, the volunteer will help our all volunteer organization to continue our mission to keep seniors comfortable and safe in their own homes within our rural isolated mountaintop communities in Upstate New York where Greene, Delaware and Ulster County come together. Having this limited and uncertain access to our Website has caused us to incur additional costs, e.g., lost donations when our website went down and duplicate hosting and domain subscription charges as well as the inability to add and delete email addresses as our organization grows.

Our Vice President is the only person currently performing updates to our Wordpress website, CatskillNeighbors.org, through access to the Dashboard. He will be working directly with the Volunteer to figure out how to regain Administrative rights to the hosting account. Once the access is restored, the Vice President will engage one or more people from our Organization and/or look to hire a webmaster so that we do not run into this problem again.

Catskill Neighbors, Inc. is a community based volunteer organization founded by Reverend Ralph Darmstadt of Fleischmanns, NY. We are a recognized NYS Domestic Not-for-Profit Corporation and a Tax Exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to help seniors wishing to remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. As time goes by, families and friends often move on and are unable to provide emotional or material support for aging loved ones whose physical abilities or income may diminish. What happens then? Where does a person turn for help? There are government social service agencies which provide important aid, but sometimes simple everyday needs can be filled by individual caring volunteers. That’s where Catskill Neighbors may be of assistance in offering friendship, companionship and a helping hand to local residents.
