Community Resource Hub Design & Implementation
We are hoping the volunteer can assist with:
* Organizing and structuring resource categories and content
* Designing a user-friendly webpage layout within Squarespace
* Implementing the page directly on our existing website
* Ensuring the page is mobile-friendly and accessible
* Providing recommendations for multilingual accessibility and usability
* Creating a simple process for future staff or volunteers to maintain and update the page within Squarespace
Resources may include information related to:
* Housing and tenant support
* Food access
* Youth programs
* Wellness and mental health resources
* Homeownership resources
* Small business support
* Volunteer opportunities
* Community gardens and neighborhood initiatives
* Public services and emergency resources
FNA will provide:
* Existing Squarespace website access
* Organizational branding and context
* Initial resource ideas and categories
* A primary point of contact for feedback and coordination
* Timely communication and decision-making throughout the project
Our goal is to launch a lightweight but impactful resource hub that improves access to information for residents while creating a sustainable system the organization can continue managing after the volunteer engagement ends.
Right now, a lot of information is spread across different websites, social media pages, flyers, and word-of-mouth networks. We want to create a simple, welcoming, and easy-to-use resource hub that helps residents find trusted information in one place.
This project would support our mission by making it easier for neighbors to connect with housing resources, food access, youth opportunities, wellness support, community events, volunteer opportunities, and other local services. We also hope it helps residents feel more connected to what’s happening in the neighborhood overall.
The long-term goal is to create something practical and sustainable that the organization can continue updating over time as community needs change. We see this as an important piece of strengthening communication, accessibility, and community engagement in Folwell.
The volunteer supporting this project would be helping us build something that residents can continue benefiting from long after the project itself is complete.
Our organization already has:
* An existing Squarespace website
* Organizational leadership support for the project
* Existing ADA and language access policies
* Community resource knowledge and neighborhood partnerships
* A designated point of contact to coordinate communication, feedback, and implementation decisions
We have already identified the primary goals for the resource hub and several categories of resources we would like included. While we have some existing resource information gathered, part of this project may also involve helping organize and identify opportunities to incorporate updated or additional trusted community resources over time.
The organization understands the importance of keeping the scope realistic and maintainable, and we are aiming to build a lightweight, easy-to-update system rather than a highly customized platform.
Throughout the project, FNA will:
* Provide timely feedback and decision-making
* Gather and organize initial resource information and content
* Coordinate internally to ensure the project aligns with organizational needs and communication practices
* Support implementation and testing before launch
After the project is completed, the resource hub will be maintained by FNA board members and/or outreach staff using Squarespace’s existing editing tools. The organization intends to continue updating and expanding the resource hub as community needs evolve and organizational capacity grows.
This project is intended to create long-term infrastructure that improves resident access to trusted information while strengthening FNA’s community engagement and communication efforts.
