Work with a PR volunteer to develop a public relations strategy and core materials to raise awareness of our 20-year fight against food apartheid using a farmers‑market‑style free pantry and 'food as medicine' model. Volunteer and staff will define 3-5 specific outreach items (key messages, outreach plan, and sample pitches) during scoping to include.
This project will amplify our mission to uplift families by providing basic needs and using food as medicine. Increased visibility will help attract partners, volunteers, and resources to expand our services across Southeast and Southwest Washington, DC and Prince George's County, strengthening community support for children and families.
During volunteer interviews we will share program history, impact examples, and available contacts so the volunteer can draft messages and outreach materials. Our team will review drafts and collaborate on next steps to implement the outreach.

Organization Mission

At Jehovah Jireh Community Development Center (The JJ Center), we strive to uplift the community by helping to provide homeless and low-income children and families with basic needs. Our work in the community is designed to bring the community essential resources they might not otherwise have. Through community building, mentorship relationships and education programs, Jehovah Jireh Community Development Center serves as a key support center for families in the Southeast and Southwest Washington, DC and in Prince George's County, Maryland. Our organization centers around the meaning of Jehovah Jireh (in Hebrew it is 'Yahweb-Yireh'). Derived from Genesis 22:14, it means "the Lord will provide." As God provides to us, we provide to others.
