Financial Statement Preparation

Our goal for this Taproot Project is to seek the assistance of an accounting volunteer to help our organization organize and structure our existing financial records into draft-ready financial statements and supporting schedules for fiscal year 2025.

Our currently available records primarily consist of bank statements, PayPal statements, extracts of personal bank account transactions from trustees who incurred expenses on behalf of the organization, and analyses of in-kind donations made to the organization.

The volunteer will assist with reviewing and organizing these financial records, reconciling key balances where necessary, and preparing draft financial statements that may later support an independent CPA review or compilation engagement.

Our organization, Langer Consulting DBA Stars and Stripes Nova Committee, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving veterans through clothing support, food assistance, and PTSD-related support services.

This project will strengthen our organization’s financial transparency, accountability, and operational readiness as we continue serving veterans in our community through clothing support, food assistance, and PTSD-related support services.

By helping us organize our financial records into draft-ready financial statements, the volunteer will support our efforts to improve donor confidence, strengthen grant readiness, and enhance our ability to demonstrate responsible stewardship of funds and donated resources.

The outcome of this project will help position our organization for future growth, stronger financial management practices, and improved sustainability, ultimately enabling us to continue expanding support services for veterans and vulnerable community members in need.

My team and I have prepared for this project by gathering our available financial records and supporting documentation for fiscal year 2025, including bank statements, PayPal statements, trustee expense extracts, and analyses of in-kind donations made to the organization.

We are committed to working collaboratively with the volunteer by providing timely access to available records, responding promptly to questions, and supporting the volunteer throughout the engagement to ensure an efficient and productive experience.

The outcome of this project will help our organization establish organized draft financial statements and supporting schedules that can support improved financial reporting, stronger internal record keeping, and future independent CPA review or compilation engagement readiness.
