Our goal for this project is to set up a bookkeeping system for EOF to keep track of expenses and donations.

In this project, you will help us:
- Select and set up an appropriate accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online).
- Establish a Chart of Accounts tailored to our nonprofit's needs.
- Create simple workflows for recording donations and expenses.
- Walk our team through how to generate basic monthly reports.

EOF has been around on a purely volunteer basis for a few years but now we are a registered Federal and California nonprofit. We need to set up a bookkeeping system to be able to generate the reports, tax documents, etc now required. Also, we're in the process of stepping up our fundraising efforts and are already seeing a considerable rise in the number of firefighters approaching us for help.

We've just completed a total revamp of our site (www.equityonfire.org) with a wonderful Taproot volunteer. We will gather all the financial information needed, as needed for our next volunteer on this project and work closely with him or her.

Equity on Fire (EOF) is Equity on Fire is a non-profit organization that originated in southern California. We are a volunteer organization. Our goal is to advocate for accountability and end the historically skewed professional archetype of the role of firefighters to be more inclusive of all races, genders, and sexualities. EOF is dedicated to promoting fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all firefighters, regardless of race, gender, or background within the national fire service.
