Prepare and file the organization's required 2025 nonprofit tax returns (Form 990-N). We are a DC non-profit certified by the IRS as a 501(c)(3). I have the filings prepared by an accountant for 2023 and 2024. I use Quickbooks and the books for 2025 are finished/complete.

The volunteer will review provided financial records, prepare draft returns or schedules, and recommend next steps. Specific forms, deadlines, and access details will be provided.

Accurate, timely tax filings keep the Foundation in good standing and protect its tax-exempt status, preserving funds and donor confidence. This compliance work directly supports the Foundation’s ability to fund training, wellness, equipment, recognition, and community education for DC Fire & EMS.

Details will be provided during volunteer interviews, including prior returns, financial records, and a staff point of contact. We'll make time for regular check-ins, respond to questions promptly, and implement the volunteer's final recommendations to submit filings.
