Design a Scalable Editorial and Publishing Workflow (6–8 Week Project)

Creshendo is seeking a detail-oriented editorial and operations specialist to help us design a clear and scalable publishing workflow.

Our research and storytelling teams are generating valuable content. We need a structured system to manage contributors, timelines, and outputs so that insights are consistently translated into high-quality publications.

Over a 6–8 week engagement, the volunteer will help us:

Map and refine the full publishing workflow from idea to publication
Design a system to track drafts, contributors, and deadlines
Create templates for content development and submission
Establish a consistent monthly publishing cadence
Define roles and responsibilities across contributors and editors
Recommend tools and processes to support ongoing operations
Key deliverables include a publishing workflow document, tracking system, contributor templates, and editorial process guidelines.

This project focuses on building a system that can be used by our team long after the engagement ends.

Creshendo’s work depends on our ability to capture and share insights from the communities we serve. A strong publishing system ensures that these insights are not lost and can inform broader conversations.

By helping us build this workflow, you will enable us to operate more consistently, support contributors more effectively, and strengthen the quality and reach of our work.

You will work with our Executive Director and research team. We will provide:

Current content examples and draft materials
Access to contributors and team leads
Insight into how content is currently developed and managed
We are organized, collaborative, and ready to implement. We are looking for someone who can bring structure and clarity to a growing function.
