Our goal is to stabilize and advance Dignifi's Navigator, a working AI-powered platform that helps people exiting incarceration access housing, employment, healthcare, and benefits. The Navigator is built on Next.js/React (frontend), Python (backend), Google Cloud Platform, and a multi-agent AI system using LLMs (Claude, Perplexity) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). We need a skilled full-stack AI engineer to help us prepare the platform for our managed pilot launch with 50-100 justice-impacted users in the Bay Area. Specific needs include strengthening our multi-agent orchestration and RAG pipeline for accurate county-specific service matching, performance optimization, mobile-first UX improvements, and integrating Langfuse observability to capture structured outcome data from every interaction.
Dignifi is scaling second chances. The Navigator is the first tool that gives returning citizens 24/7, AI-powered guidance to find services they're eligible for — replacing outdated directories and fragmented referral systems. By strengthening this platform, the volunteer will directly help people leaving incarceration connect to housing, jobs, and healthcare faster. Every interaction also generates structured outcome data that doesn't exist anywhere in the current system — referral-to-enrollment rates, time to first service connection, provider accuracy — which will power North Star, our outcome intelligence platform for county governments. This project is the foundation for Dignifi's April-September 2026 pilot with The Last Mile and Salvation Army in Alameda County, serving a population of 7,600 adults on probation and 9,450 people experiencing homelessness.
We have a working prototype that has already been tested with 40 justice-impacted users who rated it 10/10 for likelihood of continued use. We have a detailed developer guide, architecture documentation, and a complete reference document covering our tech stack, data architecture, and product roadmap.

Our CEO will serve as the primary point of contact with daily availability for standups and code reviews. We also have advisory support from a product and design lead with 15+ years of experience at Amazon, Adobe, and Instacart. The codebase is well-documented with CI/CD workflows already in place on GitHub.
