A practical navigation guide to corporate employee engagement and volunteer grant programs at DMV-area (DC Metropolitan) employers, built by someone who has worked inside those programs and knows how they actually function.

We are looking for someone with direct experience in corporate social responsibility, employee giving, or community investment who can tell us which programs are actually active, which ones are backlogged, which ones require a warm introduction, and how to approach each one correctly.

We run free family fishing events in Prince George's County, Montgomery County, and DC. Our events happen outdoors on Saturdays. They are family-friendly, hands-on, and built around conservation and STEM education. The kind of event a company's employees would genuinely want to attend with their own kids. Many large DMV employers have volunteer grant programs that convert employee volunteer hours into cash donations to the nonprofit where they volunteered. We do not yet know which of those programs we qualify for or how to navigate them.

What I want to build with this volunteer:

-A prioritized list of 10 to 15 real programs at specific DMV employers that YFL qualifies for today
-A contact name or function title for each program
-A summary of what YFL needs to document to qualify, including volunteer hour tracking requirements
-Guidance on which programs require a warm introduction vs. a direct application
-A simple one-page overview of YFL formatted for a corporate community investment audience

The volunteer will be working 2 to 5 hours per week over 4 to 6 weeks.
The families we serve at our events are the same families whose parents work at the companies we are trying to reach. A Booz Allen employee who brings their child to a YFL event at Merkle Wildlife Sanctuary on June 20th is exactly who this program is built for. If their company has a volunteer grant program, that Saturday becomes a donation. That is not a fundraising transaction. That is the mission reinforcing itself.

YFL was founded because our founder's father took him fishing as a child. That memory is why every program element is built around whole families and not just kids. The literacy corner at every event is named in his father's honor.

A volunteer who brings insider knowledge to this project will help us open a funding channel we have never accessed before. The output they build will still be in use years from now.
We have a fully operational program with seven confirmed events this season. We have a partnership with the National Park Foundation. Maryland DNR supports our work across PG County and Montgomery County.

That institutional credibility is already in place. What we need now is someone who knows the corporate giving landscape from the inside to tell us how to use it.

I am the direct point of contact for this project. I will respond within 24 hours and supply whatever materials the volunteer needs including event documentation, photos, participant data, and partner letters.
