Develop a Strategic Marketing Roadmap and Brand Positioning for NexoAfrica
Specifically, we would like support in refining our brand positioning and messaging to clearly communicate who we are, who we serve, and the value we provide to young African professionals and global partners. We are also seeking guidance on building a focused marketing strategy that helps us increase awareness, engagement, and participation across our platforms.
The volunteer would assist with:
- Defining our target audiences and how to effectively reach them
- Developing a content strategy for platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram
- Recommending a posting cadence and growth approach
- Providing feedback on our current marketing materials and overall brand presence
- Outlining a 30–60 day marketing roadmap aligned with upcoming programs and events
Given the time commitment (2–5 hours per week), we are aiming for a strategic, advisory-focused engagement rather than full execution. The goal is to walk away with a clear direction, frameworks, and actionable recommendations that our team can implement internally.
This project will directly support our ability to scale our impact by connecting more young African professionals to career opportunities, mentorship, and global initiatives.
As a growing organization, our ability to reach and engage our audience is critical. By strengthening our marketing strategy and brand positioning, this project will enable us to more effectively connect with the next generation of talent across the African diaspora—individuals who are seeking community, guidance, and opportunities to advance their careers and contribute to global development.
The outcomes of this project will:
- Increase visibility of our programs and initiatives
- Drive greater participation in our professional development cohorts and events
- Strengthen our ability to attract partners, mentors, and institutional collaborators
- Ultimately expand our reach and impact across communities we serve
For the communities we support, this means more access to:
- Career resources and skill-building opportunities
- Meaningful professional networks
- Pathways into industries such as finance, technology, policy, and entrepreneurship
For our volunteer partner, this is an opportunity to contribute to a mission that operates at both a local and global level. NexoAfrica has already engaged with platforms such as the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum and collaborated with institutions like the World Bank and Johns Hopkins University. Your work will help us build the infrastructure needed to scale that impact and reach even more individuals.
Ultimately, this project is about more than marketing—it is about building a stronger bridge between talent in the diaspora and opportunities that can shape careers, communities, and long-term economic development.
Internally, we have strong alignment across our leadership team on the importance of strengthening our marketing strategy as we prepare for upcoming program launches and partnerships. NexoAfrica has already engaged with global institutions and platforms, including participation in the United Nations ECOSOC Youth Forum, and collaborations with organizations such as the World Bank and Johns Hopkins University. As we continue to grow, refining our marketing and brand positioning is a key priority to match the scale of our work.
We have identified a dedicated point of contact who will be responsible for coordinating with the volunteer, providing timely feedback, and ensuring consistent communication throughout the engagement.
To support this work, we have already gathered key materials, including our existing branding assets, social media platforms, past marketing efforts, and program outlines. This will allow the volunteer to quickly understand our current positioning and identify opportunities for improvement without starting from scratch.
We are committed to being an engaged and responsive partner by:
- Scheduling regular weekly check-ins
- Providing clear and timely feedback on deliverables
- Being open to recommendations and strategic guidance
Most importantly, we have the internal capacity to implement the outcomes of this project. Our team will directly apply the marketing strategy, content framework, and recommendations developed through this engagement to support upcoming initiatives, including our professional development cohorts, partnerships, and community programming.
We view this as a collaborative partnership and are excited to work closely with a volunteer to build a strong, scalable marketing foundation that supports our long-term impact across the African diaspora and beyond.
