Loose Ends Project would like to create a 4-6 minute video about our organization. The little movie will be used for outreach, to help encourage project submissions, to aid with fundraising and awareness building, and to help encourage our volunteer finishers and project owners to record their work. We have video editors ready to help, but could use help writing the arc of the video, and then actually recording parts for the video.
Video is critical to reaching the people who need our services. We have had lots of great press (looseends.org/press), and every time there is a video story, we are flooded with volunteers and clients who need our help. We currently have a 1:10 project-to-finisher ratio that we are working to close. More than 30K volunteer finishers are waiting for assignments, and we are hopeful that video will be the key to gaining more project submissions. We have thousands of beautiful, heartfelt stories of connection, craft, loss, and love, and getting that across with poorly lit and poorly staged photos has been a challenge.
Our board has prepared a video strategy for 2026. We have 2 video editors ready to help and are excited to share the finished work to help with our outreach initiatives (a pilot in Boston, called "Boston Loops") as well as in presentations to donors, and most importantly, as a training video for our thousands of volunteer finishers and project submitters, in hopes that they be willing to record some of their own experience with Loose Ends.
