Grant Research and Strategy Roadmap for Dog Rescue

We need a fundraising or development professional to help us identify 10 to 15 grants we are realistically eligible for, build a grant calendar with deadlines, draft or review our first application, and create a reusable narrative we can adapt going forward. We need someone to hand us the roadmap and help us take the first step.

Legacy Paws Rescue is a veteran-owned 501(c)(3) dog rescue and sanctuary in Catawba, NC. We have been open for a year and a half. We have saved 17 dogs. We have never applied for a single grant.
Not because we don't qualify — we likely do across animal welfare, veteran causes, child development, and North Carolina community funding. But grant writing requires knowledge, time, and a comfort with asking that the founder is still building. She is a people pleaser running a rescue alone. The ask does not come naturally. The dogs are still here because she refuses to stop, not because the funding is there.

Grant funding is the difference between saying yes to the next dog and having to turn them away. Right now every vet bill, every bag of food, and every supply comes out of the same thin budget. Sustainable funding means the rescue stays open, takes in more animals, and stops operating in crisis mode. This project doesn't just support the mission — it makes the mission survivable.

I will have everything you need ready — our 501(c)(3) determination letter, EIN, program descriptions, budget, and our full organizational story. I will be honest about our size and limitations so we only pursue grants we can realistically win. I will do every piece of the work you ask of me and I will follow through. I just need someone who knows where to look and how to ask.
