Develop a San Diego Community Partnership & Events Strategy for Youth Film Nonprofit
Scope of work: Review our current San Diego partnerships and assess which relationships are active, which have room to grow, and where new energy is needed. Research and identify 10 to 15 new prospective partners across the San Diego and North County region, including independent cinemas, cultural centers, high schools and colleges with media programs, libraries, museums, and community organizations aligned with youth arts and multicultural storytelling. Create a 90-day event calendar proposing 3 to 4 activations we could produce or co-host locally. Draft outreach email templates our team can continue using after the project ends. Deliver an outreach tracker spreadsheet documenting all existing and new partner conversations, response status, and recommended next steps.
The ideal volunteer is an event planner, community organizer, or partnerships professional with experience in the arts, film, education, or cultural space. Familiarity with the San Diego arts and cultural landscape is a strong plus but not required, as much of the research can be conducted effectively from anywhere. This project should take 20 to 30 hours to complete. We are hopeful that our volunteer partner will share 3 to 5 hours of their time per week.
We have already built something real in San Diego. Events at the Fleet Science Center, partnerships with the WorldBeat Cultural Center, student collaborators from Cal State San Marcos. But we know there are communities and venues across the region we have not reached yet. There are high school film programs that do not know we exist. There are cultural organizations doing incredible work with young people who would be natural collaborators if someone made the introduction.
This project gives us the strategy and research to make those connections happen. A well-researched partner map, a thoughtful outreach sequence, and a calendar of proposed events gives our team everything they need to show up in person and build lasting relationships. Every new partnership means another space where a teenager can pick up a camera, tell a story shaped by two cultures and a thousand border crossings, and know that someone built a program specifically for them. Stories that Travel, and in San Diego, those stories do not have far to go before they reach someone who understands exactly where they come from.
The volunteer will work directly with our Founder and CEO, who travels to San Diego regularly and is available for regular video calls and collaborative working sessions. Our Chief of Staff and Head of Events and Partnerships will provide support on logistics, outreach messaging, and partnership documentation. Our Director of Film Festival and Strategic Partnerships is also available for context on the San Diego arts landscape. All collaboration will happen virtually through video calls, Slack, and shared Google Drive folders. Weekly check-ins will be scheduled at the volunteer's convenience, and our feedback turnaround will be within 48 hours.
Once complete, the event calendar, outreach tracker, and email templates will become the operational playbook for our San Diego programming through Q3 and Q4. Our Founder and internal team will handle all in-person networking and event execution using the strategy and warm introductions the volunteer builds. Learn more at https://ineffablefilms.org.
