Project Description:
Camala Foundation is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing education access and child protection for vulnerable children in Guinea-Bissau. We currently support 15 children and are scaling responsibly toward supporting 100+ children by 2028.
As part of our 2026 fundraising strategy, we are organizing a series of events:
A community fundraising event in Weymouth, MA (June)
A networking and fundraising event in New York City (July)
Our first Annual Gala (November 14, 2026).

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to help us design a cohesive fundraising strategy that connects these events into a structured donor journey and maximizes impact.

* Project Scope
The volunteer will support:

- Structuring a multi-event fundraising strategy (June → July → November)
- Designing a donor journey from small events to major gifts
- Identifying donor segments and engagement strategies
- Creating a clear positioning for each event (community vs. high-level donors)
- Recommendations for sponsorship and donor conversion
- Guidance on post-event follow-up and donor retention

Deliverables
- Multi-event fundraising strategy (June–November roadmap)
- Donor journey framework (entry → engagement → major gift)
- Event positioning strategy (Weymouth vs NYC vs Gala)
- Practical recommendations for execution

Ideal Volunteer With Experience in:
- Nonprofit fundraising strategy
- Donor development and major gifts
- Strategic planning
This project will help us improve the systems we rely on to raise funding and manage our work effectively. Stronger grant and operations systems will allow us to spend less time on administrative confusion and more time serving the communities and students we support. Better organization will increase our ability to secure funding, report accurately, and scale our mission sustainably.
Camala Foundation will provide background materials, current program information, past grant examples, and our existing internal notes so the volunteer can work efficiently. Our founder will lead the project directly, respond promptly, and make sure the work stays focused on the agreed scope. We are ready to start now and will use the final deliverables immediately in our fundraising and day-to-day operations.
