Our goal is to strengthen and streamline our accounting systems in Zoho Books to ensure accuracy, transparency, and long-term sustainability.

We are seeking support from a CPA or experienced bookkeeper to help us clean up, organize, and document our financial processes.

Key deliverables include:
• Review and reconcile current and prior fiscal year financials in Zoho Books
• Evaluate and refine our chart of accounts to align with nonprofit best practices
• Establish a simple, repeatable month-end close process and reporting structure
• Provide guidance on financial reporting to support board-level decision making

The goal is to leave us with clean books, clear processes, and confidence in our financial reporting moving forward.
Kona Sailing Club is a volunteer-driven organization focused on getting more people sailing, more often—especially our keiki—while building a club strong enough to support it for the long haul.

Strong financial systems are critical to achieving this mission.

Through this project, the volunteer will help:
• Improve transparency and trust in our financial reporting
• Support sustainable growth of youth sailing programs and scholarships
• Enable better planning, budgeting, and decision-making at the board level
• Ensure the long-term stability of a community organization that provides access to sailing and ocean education

Their work will directly support our ability to grow participation, expand programs, and serve the Kona community for years to come.
Our team has already taken several steps to ensure this project is efficient and impactful:

• Zoho Books is active
• Leadership alignment is in place, with strong board support for improving financial systems
• A primary point of contact (Commodore or Treasurer) will be available for quick decisions and communication
• We are committed to implementing recommended changes and maintaining processes after project completion

We value our volunteers’ time and will ensure clear communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
