We are searching for a volunteer who can put together a comms package of materials related to Earth Day (and the surrounding month) and pitch the stories to relevant publications.

This volunteer will create a package of press materials and do PR outreach for Earth Month, put together media materials including tailored feature and human-interest story angles, op-ed drafts, suggested outlets and targets, and sample pitch emails.

This Earth Month work will amplify our organizations work, attract attention and partnerships, and help Project Petals secure tools and connections for community-led environmental and socioeconomic improvements. Volunteers will elevate local voices advocating for healthier, revitalized neighborhoods.

During scoping volunteers will receive background information, organizational messages, target audiences, and approval contacts; our team will collaborate to provide timely feedback so pitches can be finalized.

By introducing community members with the necessary tools, funding and connections they need to transform their communities, Project Petals works to solve community development disparities, detrimental environmental conditions. With a mission to alleviate the socioeconomic divide as well as bring awareness to environmental and urban degradation issues, they help people advocate for their own neighborhoods and in return, people learn how to advocate for themselves.
