Develop a Financial Forecasting and Budgeting Framework

The Verb Kind is seeking a skilled finance volunteer to help strengthen our financial infrastructure as we scale our youth mentorship programs. We are looking to move from basic management to strategic financial planning. The primary goal of this project is to develop a robust Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) framework.

We would like to work with a volunteer to:
Review our current financial statements and budgeting process.
Build a flexible multi-year forecasting model to help us plan for program expansion.
Improve our annual budgeting process to provide better insights into program-level economics.
Create a standardized financial dashboard or summary report template for Board oversight.

By the end of this project, we hope to have a clear financial framework that supports strategic decision-making and long-term sustainability

This project is critical to scaling our mission at The Verb Kind. As demand for our youth mentorship and service programs grows, we need stronger financial clarity and structure to support that growth.

This engagement will help us build forward looking budgets, understand program level economics, and create clear financial narratives for our Board and donors. The result is better decision making, stronger fundraising, and more effective use of every dollar.

Ultimately, this work enables us to serve more young people with greater intention, accountability, and impact while giving the volunteer a direct role in shaping the financial foundation of a growing nonprofit.

We have strong internal alignment and leadership support for this project. The Executive Director and Board recognize the importance of strengthening our financial infrastructure as The Verb Kind continues to grow and are committed to implementing the recommendations from this engagement. Our financial materials, including recent statements and budgets, are already organized so the volunteer can quickly understand our current structure. A dedicated point of contact will ensure efficient meetings and timely access to information. Most importantly, the frameworks and recommendations developed will be implemented by leadership and shared with the Board to strengthen financial oversight, improve planning, and support the long term sustainability of our mission.
