We need a volunteer who can virtually conduct a comprehensive HR assessment and then deliver concrete recommendations on necessary improvements.

Our nonprofit needs your help to build organizational resiliency by investing in our people. During this project, a volunteer will assess where our organization stands internally, brainstorm how to improve upon weaknesses, and how we can further lean into organizational strengths. Investigating which HR policies should be implemented, researching new remote work standards, or conducting an internal engagement survey may all be elements of this work.
Help us transform our internal capacity! We are seeking an HR expert through Taproot to conduct a comprehensive assessment and provide actionable recommendations for our HR processes.

Why Your Expertise Matters
Our current HR structure holds us back from maximizing our community impact. Your expertise in talent management, performance processes, or compliance will directly strengthen our foundation.

The Impact of Your Work
• Empowered Staff: By refining our onboarding, you’ll help us get new helpers into the field faster, providing immediate support to community members.
• Sustainable Growth: Your recommendations will help us retain passionate volunteers, allowing us to serve more people long-term.
• Operational Excellence: You are not just organizing files; you are building a robust structure that allows our team to focus on serving our community rather than struggling with administration.

What We Need
We are looking for a pro bono volunteer for a 4-week project to:
• Conduct an audit of current practices.
• Identify gaps and bottlenecks.
• Provide a clear actionable report with recommendations for improvement
This project will involve the exchange of sensitive internal information. With that in mind, we've done the pre-work internally to ensure leadership and staff buy-in to this work and gather the information that will be handed off to the volunteer. The recommendations shared by our volunteer partner will be incorporated into our operations and people strategy in the coming months.
