Accounting Systems Setup (DonorPerfect)

As our programs and donor community grow, we need stronger financial and donor management systems to support sustainable expansion and maintain the highest level of stewardship and transparency. We are seeking Taproot volunteers to strengthen our nonprofit accounting processes and optimize our use of DonorPerfect to better track financial performance, donor engagement, and organizational growth.

The Vision and Dreams Project is a nonprofit dedicated to helping youth and young adults build real pathways to stable, meaningful careers. Through hands-on construction and renovation projects, participants gain technical trade skills, workplace readiness, mentorship, and confidence.

We serve youth ages 12–24, many of whom face economic barriers, are justice-involved, or have limited access to career opportunities. Our work helps young people see themselves as skilled professionals, community contributors, and future leaders.
Strong financial and donor systems enable us to focus on what matters most—helping young people build brighter futures.
This project will help us:
• Serve more youth through workforce training programs
• Strengthen donor trust and reporting transparency
• Increase readiness for grants and expansion opportunities
• Sustain long-term community impact

My team and I have prepared for this opportunity by establishing a standing weekly meeting to review tasks and respond promptly. We have also begun gathering the required documents to facilitate submission. I have also asked another team member to assist me in ensuring that we are responsive to the pro bono partner's request.
