Draft a concise press release announcing FACE Africa's new board member and lead targeted outreach to secure placements in appropriate U.S. and West African publications. Volunteer will draft and refine messaging, prepare pitch emails, and assist with distribution. Details will be provided.
A well-crafted announcement and media placements will raise awareness of FACE Africa's work delivering clean water, sanitation, hygiene, and women's health in Liberia and Sierra Leone. Increased visibility and industry connections can attract partners, donors, and broader support for community programs.
Details will be provided during volunteer interviews (bio, headshot, timing). Our small team will review and approve drafts, share relevant background, and coordinate outreach priorities so the volunteer can execute placements and hand off final materials for publication.

Organization Mission

663 million people globally lack access to safe water supply sources, with 350 million people in Africa alone affected every day. The health implications are staggering. 2 million people die every year due to water-borne diarrheal diseases, most of them children under the age of 5. The World Bank estimates that water-related illnesses kill more African children under age five than HIV/AIDS, malaria, and measles combined. Working hand-in-hand with communities to co-create locally appropriate programs that operate sustainably for years — implementing solutions from household water filters, hand-dug and drilled wells, to latrines and rainwater catchments; training and empowering local water committees and developing strong operations and maintenance structures; and promoting safe hygiene practices and education on nutrition, vaccine awareness, and menstrual hygiene.
