Accounting Systems Set Up (QuickBooks)

We're looking for a volunteer with experience setting up a bookkeeping system in QuickBooks from scratch! You'll help us set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices by spending 20-25 hours with us over 4-5 weeks.

In our first meeting, we'll share how our finances are currently reported by our fiscal sponsor and our hopes for the capacity of our own system.

In phase one of the project, you'll review our current financial record-keeping practices and reporting needs. Then you'll migrate our data over to our new software and ensure proper coding and reconciliation workflows are in place.

In the second phase of our project, you will provide one or two of our team members with basic training. We ask that you make yourself available for up to two weeks to address our questions as we adjust to the new software and systems.

By helping us establish a clean, scalable bookkeeping system, the volunteer will strengthen the financial foundation that supports long-term tuition-free educational programming for students in Southeast San Diego.

Clear financial systems increase funder confidence, enable responsible expansion to additional school sites, and reduce administrative strain on leadership, allowing us to focus more of our resources on student learning and family partnership.

We've acquired QuickBooks and requested all financial reports from our fiscal sponsor. We've had very basic training and have reviewed their guidelines on how to manage the system and run basic reports. We will designate a member of our team who will manage the volunteer and the project.
