Pay Your Tuition Foundation is seeking a licensed CPA or qualified audit professional to conduct an independent financial audit for the past two fiscal years.

* Conduct an independent audit of PYT’s financial statements for the last two fiscal years
* Review accounting records, supporting documentation, and internal controls
* Identify any material weaknesses or compliance gaps
* Provide audited financial statements (or audit report) in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP)
* Offer recommendations for strengthening financial systems and audit readiness going forward

Audited financial statements for 2 fiscal years
Management letter (if applicable) with recommendations
Brief presentation (optional) to leadership/board summarizing findings

Volunteer Qualifications
Active CPA license (required)
Experience conducting nonprofit audits
Familiarity with Form 990 and nonprofit compliance standards
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
Pay Your Tuition Foundation exists to reduce barriers to higher education and help students avoid unnecessary student loan debt. As we pursue larger institutional grants and funding partnerships, audited financial statements are increasingly required.

This project directly supports our mission by:
* Strengthening our credibility with major funders
* Increasing our eligibility for foundation and corporate grants
* Improving financial transparency and governance
* Positioning us to scale programs that support students in accessing tuition-free education pathways

An audit is not just a financial milestone — it is a growth milestone.

By helping us complete this project, a volunteer will directly contribute to expanding educational access for students who might otherwise be burdened by debt. Their expertise will help unlock funding that allows us to serve more families, expand outreach, and build sustainable impact in the communities we support.
PYT is fully committed to making this project successful and impactful. To ensure a productive engagement, we have already secured internal leadership and board alignment around the completion of this audit and its importance to our organizational growth. In preparation, we have organized financial documentation for the past two fiscal years and compiled all key materials. We have also designated a clear point of contact—our Executive Director, alongside our operations lead—to streamline communication and decision-making.

Throughout the engagement, we will provide prompt access to all requested financial records and supporting documentation, respond quickly to questions or clarification requests, and implement recommendations as soon as feasible. We will also schedule consistent weekly check-ins to maintain alignment, ensure accountability, and support steady progress.

Our goal is to respect the volunteer’s time, maintain strong organization and transparency, and execute efficiently so the engagement delivers meaningful, tangible results for our organization.

Organization Mission

At PYTF, we are dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. We strive to make higher education accessible and sustainable, recognizing the significant funding gaps that hinder many low to moderate-income undergraduate students from starting, staying in, and completing their degrees. Research indicates that financial obstacles account for 50% of the reasons why low-income students fail to complete their degrees. Our vision is to reshape the socioeconomic landscape by ensuring equitable access to education. Through our Student Loanership product offering—a unique blend of loan and scholarship—we connect families and banks to groundbreaking financing solutions. By harnessing technology and data, we bridge the higher education funding gap. Our program not only revolutionizes the scholarship industry but also places a strong emphasis on student advocacy, championing the financial interests, needs, and overall well-being of students. Join us in collaborating with students like you to forge a future where educational equity is universal, and every scholar has the resources to thrive, alongside student-driven initiatives.
