We are a fast growing high impact nonprofit dog rescue that already has bookkeeping services in place, but is looking for support from a dog lover that's passionate about our cause. Ideally, this volunteer finance professional would review our current financials and '26 budget while also supporting with some forecasting and capital planning. We have growth on the horizon and want to be prepared. We also feel like we could benefit from getting a fresh set of eyes on our current financial processes to see if there are areas for improved efficiency.

We predict that this finance project will take from 20-30 hours to complete. We're hoping that our pro bono partner will share three to five hours of their time each week with our team.
We are looking to take on an expansion project along with a capital campaign while also continuing to add to our growing team. This work would have a direct impact on our ability to sprint ahead with confidence and continue to make substantial strides (we'd be happy to explain on an intro call!) on our annual impact.
To prepare for this project, we have gathered our budgeting information and will share access to our financial management tools.

Organization Mission

Wags and Walks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and a dedicated community of dog lovers working to reduce euthanasia in local shelters, rescue dogs in need, provide medical support, and place them in loving homes while increasing awareness of rescue dogs as the best dogs in the world. The organization uses its unique family-friendly foster and adoption programs to build its community as it continues to find ways to expand its impact. Between the full time brick and mortar locations in Los Angeles and Nashville plus the Summer events in New York, the organization has rescued nearly 16,000 dogs since 2011.
