We'd like to connect with a volunteer who can help us conduct a Louisiana market assessment for Appleseed's web app that creates simple wills, living wills, and medical POAs. Analyze demand among attorneys offering sliding-scale/low-bono services, map competitors/pricing, compare monthly subscription vs pay-per-use, estimate annual revenue for each scenario, and recommend next steps. Details and data sources will be provided during volunteer interviews.
This project will help Louisiana Appleseed determine a sustainable model to broaden access to basic estate planning for people above legal aid income thresholds. A viable pricing strategy will enable partnerships with low-bono attorneys, expand access to justice, and help scale a tool that protects vulnerable families across the state. It will also serve as a model for future technologies to aid in legal service delivery to asset-limited families.
Our team will collaborate with volunteers, share product context and the fact the tool is used by legal aid attorneys, and participate in scoping interviews. We will review assumptions and draft outputs and provide relevant usage/context data where available; specific data access and timelines will be provided during onboarding.

Organization Mission

Louisiana Appleseed solves our state's toughest problems at their root cause by creating and increasing Access to Justice, Opportunity, and Education. We believe that our state will be stronger through fair and equitable access to the courts, the economy, and public schools. To accomplish this, we build bridges between vulnerable communities and our extensive network of pro bono professionals to develop meaningful and sustainable solutions that help justice take root.
