Design and Facilitate a Cross-National Solidarity Workshop for a Global Volunteer Team
Our volunteers include refugees, migrants, diaspora leaders, and allies working across countries, cultures, and lived realities. Many team members are navigating a deeply fragmented global moment shaped by displacement, conflict, grief, and uncertainty. We believe people bring their full humanity into this work, and we aim to create a structured and well held space that honors emotional reality while remaining grounded in shared purpose and collective responsibility.
The volunteer will support the following tasks:
• Design a one hour virtual workshop focused on cross racial solidarity and relational leadership
• Create a facilitation plan with discussion prompts and light interactive activities suited for a diverse international team
• Facilitate the live session in March or April
• Share reflection prompts or simple tools that participants and team leads can continue using after the session
The workshop should support participants in acknowledging emotional complexity and interconnectedness, while also translating awareness into practical ways of showing up for one another across difference in day to day collaboration.
This project strengthens our mission by equipping a diverse global team with the relational skills needed to collaborate across race, culture, and power with care and accountability. When volunteers feel connected and supported, they contribute more effectively and sustain their engagement over time.
In a polarized and interconnected world, our ability to model trust, empathy, and coordinated action across difference is part of our impact. The practices developed through this workshop will extend beyond our organization into the communities and systems we support.
We will provide the volunteer with:
• Clear context on our mission, values, and organizational culture
• Background on the concepts and language that inspired this work
• A defined audience profile and goals for the session
• Technical and logistical support for the virtual workshop
This session is designed as a foundational experience rather than a one time conversation. Outcomes will inform how our teams approach dialogue, collaboration, and care across difference. The facilitator will be supported in holding clear boundaries so the space remains focused on relational skill building, shared language, and practical application.
