We are seeking a skilled volunteer to lead a complete redesign of our nonprofit website. This project will modernize the site’s structure, design, and user experience to better communicate our mission, improve accessibility, and increase engagement with youth, families, partners, and funders.

This role goes beyond surface-level updates and focuses on reimagining how our website functions as a core communication and engagement tool. The volunteer will work collaboratively with another volunteer who is responsible for SEO strategy and content editing to ensure the final site is cohesive, effective, and aligned across design, messaging, and search performance.

Project Scope:
-Conduct a review of our current website to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities
-Redesign site architecture, navigation, and layout to improve usability and flow
-Refresh the visual design to align with our brand and enhance engagement
-Ensure the site is mobile-responsive, accessible, and easy to navigate
-Coordinate with the SEO and content volunteer to support content structure, hierarchy, and search-readiness
-Incorporate best practices for performance, accessibility, and long-term sustainability

Deliverables:
-Redesigned site architecture and navigation structure
-Wireframes and visual design concepts
-Design guidance suitable for handoff to internal team
-Recommendations to support accessibility, performance, and SEO implementation

Timeline & Collaboration:
This project is expected to span approximately 6–9 weeks. The engagement will begin with a discovery phase to understand our mission, audiences, technical capacity, and goals. Regular check-ins will support collaboration, feedback, and iteration throughout the process, including coordination with the SEO and content volunteer.

We will provide clear goals, access to decision-makers, and timely feedback. Our team is committed to being responsive, open to expert recommendations, and engaged throughout the redesign process.
A redesigned website will strengthen our digital presence, reduce barriers to access for families seeking support, and help us better connect with partners and funders. This project will directly support our mission of creating supportive communities where youth and families can thrive.
We have already thought about and are prepared to brief you about our current website platform, budget restrictions for the build, our branding collaterals and norms, and information about our stakeholder groups and target audiences. We've also compiled some photos and have some language developed that we will share with you and samples of sites we like.
