Grant Writing Support

Our small team needs support with grant writing. We would like someone with experience in submitting both federal grants and foundation grants. We are also looking for someone who is detail-oriented, research-driven, and capable of crafting compelling narratives that align with our organization's mission and goals.

We need support:
- Identifying funding opportunities
- Drafting and refining grant proposals (both federal and foundation opportunities)
- Updating grants calendar and managing deadlines
- Feedback on improving internal grant systems and workflow

Specific grant targets, templates, and materials will be provided and discussed. Depending on capacity, we can focus on a single grant or build a longer-term relationship.

Over the past year, we lost one-third of our funding due to changes at the federal level. Successful proposals will help replace that and secure funding to advance scientifically sound education and workforce development, strengthen local leadership, and catalyze environmental health improvements grounded in local knowledge. Your support via grant writing will directly support our mission as well as secure and enhance our program capacity.

We have a grant calendar, a spreadsheet of current opportunities already identified, and a file/workflow system (open to improvement). We will collaborate with the volunteer to clarify target opportunities, share background materials, and review drafts in a timely manner so proposals are submission-ready. Volunteers can expect open communication and iterative feedback throughout the engagement. The nature of our work can be technical, so grant writing will be collaborative in nature with our team.
