A reviewed and updated QuickBooks system that properly records grant revenue and service fees, implements schedules to recognize prepaid expenses over time, and a concise report of any 2025 entries that need adjustment. Specifics and access details will be provided to volunteers. We are a small non-profit that started in 2025 with only a few projects, so we believe the review of 2025 will not be too complicated.
Accurate recording of grants, fees, and prepaid expenses strengthens our financial transparency and funder confidence, enabling reliable delivery and growth of nature-based programs. Volunteers’ work will directly support our mission to expand equitable access to outdoor learning and play for children.
Details will be provided during interviews. We will share QuickBooks access and supporting documents so volunteers can review our accounts, meet with staff, and recommend or make adjustments. Staff will collaborate with volunteers in regular check-ins to implement changes.

Organization Mission

The research is clear: nature makes kids healthier, happier, and smarter. Spending time outdoors, in nature, is essential for children’s healthy development. Our goal is nature in every neighborhood and every park, to ensure all children in our city have access to outdoor spaces where they can learn, play, and grow. We are committed to strengthening efforts to advance equity in access to nature by increasing opportunities for nature-rich recreation and expanding nature programming at our early childhood centers, schools, and community centers. We also advocate for urban greening as an environmental and community health strategy.
