We are seeking to partner with a skilled accounting or finance volunteer to help establish a clean, scalable nonprofit accounting setup for NexoAfrica as we prepare for program growth and expanded partnerships in 2026.

Specifically, we would like support with reviewing our current financial setup and helping us implement best-practice nonprofit accounting structures. This includes setting up or refining our chart of accounts, establishing clear expense and program-based tracking, and ensuring we have appropriate processes in place for grants, restricted funds, and financial reporting.

The volunteer would work closely with our Founder and leadership team to recommend tools, workflows, and documentation that support transparency, compliance, and ease of ongoing management. Our goal is to leave this project with a well-organized accounting system and clear guidance that our team can maintain independently after the engagement ends.

This project is well-suited to a volunteer who can dedicate 2–5 hours per week over several weeks and enjoys helping mission-driven organizations build strong financial foundations.
This project directly supports NexoAfrica’s mission to build global leadership pipelines for young professionals. As a growing nonprofit working across workforce development, policy engagement, and global partnerships, strong financial systems are essential to delivering programs responsibly and at scale.

By helping us establish a clear, compliant, and well-organized nonprofit accounting structure, the volunteer will enable NexoAfrica to more effectively manage program resources, steward grant funding, and demonstrate transparency and accountability to partners and funders. This foundation allows us to focus our energy on delivering high-impact programming rather than navigating ad hoc financial processes.

The outcomes of this project will strengthen our ability to:

Secure and manage grant funding that supports youth and professional development programs

Scale initiatives such as career pipelines, policy labs, and global convenings

Provide clear financial reporting to our board, partners, and supporters

Ultimately, this work helps ensure that more community members gain access to meaningful career opportunities, leadership development, and pathways to influence within global institutions. Volunteers supporting this project will play a behind-the-scenes but critical role in enabling long-term, sustainable impact for the communities NexoAfrica serves.
NexoAfrica is fully prepared to engage thoughtfully and efficiently with a skilled volunteer on this project. We have internal alignment and leadership buy-in to prioritize this work, and the Founder will serve as the primary point of contact to ensure timely communication, decision-making, and follow-through.

Ahead of the engagement, we will gather and organize all relevant materials, including existing financial records, expense categories, bank account information, and any current tools or processes in use. We are open to the volunteer’s guidance on best practices and tools and are prepared to implement recommended systems during the course of the project.

We will establish clear goals, a shared timeline, and regular check-ins to ensure the project stays on track within the volunteer’s availability (2–5 hours per week). Any deliverables created—such as an accounting structure, chart of accounts, documentation, or workflows—will be adopted directly by our team and used as the foundation for our ongoing financial management.

This project is a priority for our organization as we scale our programs and partnerships, and we are committed to implementing the outcomes immediately and sustainably beyond the volunteer engagement.
