My goal for this Taproot project is to create a clear, realistic startup budget and basic financial framework for Mommy Haven, a newly formed nonprofit providing supportive housing and reunification services for mothers and children in Philadelphia. I am seeking help refining a first-year operating budget, identifying key expense categories (housing, staffing, program costs), and ensuring the budget aligns with grant funding requirements. Deliverables may include a finalized 12-month budget, assumptions, and guidance on basic financial tracking best practices for an early-stage nonprofit.

Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping Mommy Haven build a sustainable financial framework that allows us to responsibly launch and grow supportive housing and reunification services for mothers and their children. A clear, realistic budget will strengthen our ability to pursue grant funding, plan programs effectively, and ensure that resources are directed toward long-term stability and positive outcomes for the families we serve.

My team and I have prepared for this project by gathering draft budgets, outlining our core programs and anticipated expenses, and clarifying our short-term and long-term financial goals. As the founder, I am fully committed to this project, available for regular check-ins, and responsive to communication. I am prepared to provide organizational documents, answer questions promptly, and implement the recommendations and tools developed through this engagement to strengthen our financial foundation.
