My organization is behind on annual financial statement audits. Our overhead is rather slim right now and we have not been able to afford to pay our auditor to complete what is now five years of audits. So we need some assistance and are hoping that a pro bono CPA can help get us back on track, because the lack of these audits and the requisite filings inhibit us from seeking government and other corporate grants that will permit us to expand our programming and stay afloat.
We are in arts organization, preserving the spirit of Coney Island, and the circus sideshow, as well as the mermaid parade of the Coney Island museum. Without these audits, we cannot seek grants that will permit us to continue to maintain our landmark building in Coney Island, they will permit us to expand our arts programming, create training departments for new performers, and otherwise Remain a vital Coney Island institution
We will connect our pro bono, CPA or auditor with our treasurer and executive Director, and ensure that all files are provided in a timely manner, and we will remain available at all times to work on any requests that are necessary.

Organization Mission

Coney Island USA exists to defend the honor of American popular culture through innovative exhibitions and performances. Presenting and producing exciting new works, our approach is rooted in mass culture and the traditions of P.T. Barnum, dime museums, burlesque, circus sideshows, vaudeville, and Coney Island itself. Preserving and championing a set of uniquely American visual and performing art forms, we seek to create an international forum for cultural preservation and discourse, and where Coney Island represents these impulses, we strive to make it once again a center for live art and entrepreneurial spirit. Coney Island USA operates a multi-arts center in a landmark building in the heart of Coney Island. We produce and present programming in three unique venues: the Coney Island Museum, Sideshows by the Seashore and the Shooting Gallery/Arts Annex. Serving both New York City and an international community that includes visitors to Coney Island and enthusiasts of various cultural forms, our signature activities include the Mermaid Parade, the Coney Island Circus Sideshow, the Coney Island Museum, Coney Island Film Festival and new theatrical work.
