Marketing & Publicity Strategy for Spring Fundraising Brunch
With the support of a Taproot volunteer, we aim to create a clear, cohesive marketing roadmap that will raise visibility for the event, strengthen alignment with our mission, and expand our reach across key audiences.
The volunteer will collaborate with HJI staff and members of our fundraising committee to support the following planning work:
- Developing a cohesive marketing and publicity strategy for the fundraising brunch
- Recommending a consistent visual identity for the event (colors, tone, design direction) that aligns with HJI’s brand
Advising on effective use of:
- Email marketing, Social media platforms, Partner and supporter networks
Providing guidance on press and media outreach, including:
- Identifying appropriate local or mission-aligned media outlets
- Recommendations for pitching interviews or stories
- Helping craft key messaging that highlights:
- The event
- HJI’s mission
- The broader community impact of supporting our work
This project does not include posting on social media, contacting media outlets, or managing campaigns. The focus is on creating a plan and messaging framework that our team can implement.
Volunteers can expect to spend 2–5 hours per week for a 4-6 weeks.
A strong marketing and publicity strategy is essential to increasing awareness of our mission, expanding our supporter base, and ensuring the success of our fundraising efforts. This project will help us elevate our visibility, attract new allies, and generate critical resources that directly support communities facing healthcare inequities.
By supporting this work, volunteers will play a meaningful role in strengthening our public presence and amplifying the impact of health justice advocacy.
- Clear goals for the Spring 2026 fundraising brunch
- Existing brand materials and organizational messaging
- Internal staff capacity to execute marketing and outreach
- A collaborative fundraising committee invested in the event’s success
All strategies, messaging frameworks, and recommendations developed through this project will be actively implemented by our team, ensuring the volunteer’s work leads to tangible impact.
